Our Method
Firstly at Affinity we believe that it must be “me first”—not to the exclusion of others, but because our personal lives are the foundation of everything we do, it must be "me first" Having said that we also believe that in unity, we find our strength and that the time has come for mankind to move beyond division and stand together, embracing togetherness. Living and working in synergy isn't just our preference, it's essential for achieving our goals and fostering a constantly improving environment.
Many of us have sought the help of others, and in the name of unity, have pursued justice and equality with the hope of bettering our own lives. We have joined groups and gatherings that charm with eloquent words and empty promises, only to discover the same divisions that we find everywhere else and in addition no real support for ourselves. Countless hours, energy, and talent have been dedicated to causes and organizations that offer no tangible benefit to our personal circumstances. We sit for hours and listen to tenets and dogma. We are told to believe and that this is the WAY or PATH or TRUTH or some other cliche term.
We dedicate our lives but we are not enriched.
They speak of depth but we live in the shallows,
We follow the teachings but we are not enriched
We are surrounded by others, but possess no real friendshops
Some dibble in and around these causes seeking the fellowship and association of others., deciding not to believe in the cause but not wanting to be alone they chose empty, shallow relationships with superficial ties and small talk. Others decide they want to do an about face and get away all together. Often, depression, suicidal thoughts and the like become the norm for those who make this type of decision Some drift in and out of these groups, not because they believe in the cause, but because they’re afraid to be alone. They settle for shallow connections—small talk, surface-level ties—just to feel part of something. Others make a clean break. They turn away completely.
But that choice often comes with a heavy cost. Depression, isolation, even thoughts of suicide can creep in. The loss of community, even a hollow one, leaves a void. And in that silence, the truth becomes clear: The fellowship was never real.
On the contrary at Affinity, our strength lies in how we approach community. Above all else, we value close bonds and real friendships, built on care, respect and love. But what is it that holds us together? In nature, we see wisdom and connection. A reminder to us all that harmony doesn’t need dogma. That’s why Affinity is guided by principles of balance, interdependence, and growth. Alongside nature, we trust in science. The scientific method helps us live in the most logical, practical way—testing, learning, and always improving. Affinity is not built on rigid beliefs. It’s built on friendship, connection and mutuality.
Our approach can be summarized in this way. First, we hold that every meaningful path begins within you, guided by your personal dreams, goals and aspirations. Secondly, we believ, e that true purpose expands outward, and uplifts others along the way. Here are our core objectives:
YOU FIRST
Before you can help others you must first help yourself. At Affinity we focus on your first.
INCLUSIVE INTENTION
Your intentions should be far reaching, encompassing firstly your own goals and secondly making things better for the people around you.
ROOTED IN SCIENCE
Your beliefs should be anchored in the steady ground of reason and truth, not drifting in the shadows of myths, superstitions, or folklore.
COMMUNITY FRIENDLY
Our commitment should be directed primarily to ourselves and must recognize how what we want will affect others being careful not to harm anyone in any way
NATURAL
Our endeavours must be in profound harmony with the entire tapestry of nature—its plants, animals, and the very Earth itself.
